Great times in KB

Since someone requested for this post...here it is =P Sorry this takes kinda long, been busy with work...

Anyway, just wanna write about the short shopping for batik trip we had one morning. We went to a batik shop on the way to PCB beach as ah Nie wanted to buy some batik back for her colleagues. Love the bright colours ^_^

38-ing

Should I apologise for the lack of updates despite no one pestering me to update? Haha..anyway, was supposed to blog about the trip to Macau & Hong Kong but poor internet connection didn't allow me to post up pictures on my blog, hence I'll just skip that post then unless I have any request from people to blog about it =P

Went to KL last week to do elective placement and to meet up some friends....it's always comfortable to spend time with familiar faces, we can really talk for hours and hours if not for the classes and work the next morning that we have to attend to.

Thanks guys for turning up for the dinner at The Gardens (and supper - thanks Ker Yung for belanja-ing us!), I know you all stay quite a distance away but still made the effort to come =) I feel special now hahaha! (note to Ai Wei: I think I can tell the others how to 'threaten' you to come next time in case you ffk again, hehe)

Christmas BBQ party

It's been a while since I updated my blog...coz it's holidays and I'm lazy...erm actually it's coz nobody kacau me to update =P Let's start off with what happened on Christmas Day last year....Miss Perfect Lady Loo 'Wan Mei' organised a BBQ party at my house! We went to Tesco in the morning to buy the ingredients without Sze Ping who 放飞机 coz she was still asleep =.= Yun's mum bought the chicken drumsticks and chicken wings from the big market for us, and all the chickens went through slimming process for 3 hours at 许家抽脂中心 and so they were all 'low-fat' chicken =P

After BBQ-ing till about 11pm, we started cleaning up...washing plates, throwing rubbish, keeping tables and chairs, washing the floor and the BBQ set...good work everyone =P Then we went indoors for cakes and wine =D

Li Shan bought this cute cake from KL - she just landed in KB on that very day and came to my house right away for the BBQ...well to BBQ chicken for people =P (名言：丽珊BBQ的鸡最好吃!)

Pack and unpack

Pheww...after 10 hours of flight (8 hours from KL to Gold Coast, 2 hours from Gold Coast to Melbourne) I finally reached Melbourne on Saturday night with Ryan and Yun Ying. The reason we booked the tickets to Gold Coast instead of Melbourne earlier was because....Air Asia hasn't announced its KL-Melbourne route yet when we booked the tickets, and just 1 week after we booked they announced the new route!! Grrr...but thank God that it's a chance for us to escape the heat of Melbourne that Saturday morning/afternoon, Gold Coast was much cooler. The temperature at Melbourne on Friday was the highest - 45 degrees! We were lucky that we arrived on Saturday instead of Friday =)

Friends who arrived earlier helped me to take out my stuff from storage...and I treated them 珍珠奶茶 the next day to repay their kindness...I happy, they happy haha =) Have been unpacking my stuff and decorating my room (yeah with new decorations!) these 2 days.

Chinese New Year at KB was fun! Went to 拜年 with my friends on the 3rd day. We went to about 12 or 13 houses...hehe!

...we moved on to Zia En's house! Went to KK with Chui Shen to send Jen Yun and Ai Wei home and visit their houses...first time stayed at KK till so late (around 11.30pm)! Wooohh, 拜年 from 11am till 11.30pm...haha~ Went to Mr Cheng's house the next day (初四), then went back to my house with my friends (some of them didn't visit the day earlier)...and we played Play Station (gathering at my house usually includes playing games haha), then took some pics before they left.

So now...back in Melbourne, have to pack up the CNY mood, and say Hello to clinical training =)

Baaaaack

Spent the last 5 days at KL...buy books, meet friends and shopping! =)

Stayed overnight at Siew Ting's place the first night I arrived KL, coz Conney was there too!




It reminds me of Kem Bina Insan in 2006 when 3 of us were in the same tent too! And this time history repeated itself again...I was the one sleeping in the middle =.= Slept from about 3am to 8.45am (me being the earliest to wake up then couldn't continue sleeping so started kacau-ing the other two beside me =P)

Went to Sunway Pyramid the next day. Had a mini gathering with Ying Chuin, Wei Yong, Jen Yun, Li Shan and Poh Xuan. Ying Chuin is going off to Auckland soon....have a safe journey my dear friend!

This CNY...

...I stayed back at KB. The main reason is to celebrate Chinese New Year with my friends. I never have the experience of going 'bai nian' from house to house with my friends...the experience of getting so many ang pows in a day =P

It's on the 3rd day of Chinese New Year that we went for our Kubang Kerian (KK) trip. I think it has become a tradition among my friends who used to spend CNY in KB. We started off quite late as there was traffic jam around town. Michelle came to fetch me from my house and she was caught in the traffic jam for about 45 minutes!

Our first stop was Wei Yong's house. We had decided earlier to gather at her house first. After everyone arrived and had lunch of prawn mee at her house, we started our 'KK trip'. It was so fun! It was actually my first time of visiting some of my friends' house... (有点可悲，认识他们这么多年却没有去过他们的家 =.=)

On the 4th day some of us went to Chui Shen's house. Most of my friends were going back to uni on that day and only a few of us left who were free. The next stop was my house. We played cards (too bad my house don't have mahjong) and PS1 (I don't have PS2). It was game whole afternoon! (And eat whole afternoon... >.<)

Recent events~

Went to Sri Petaling pasar malam on Tuesday with Christine. The usual shopping queen bought quite a few t-shirts for house wear. We also bought some food while walking around. I didn't really have anything in mind to buy. We bought a jelly-shape-like red bean ice cream each before walking to the nearby The Store. I helped Christine to look for curtain and bed sheet for her room. There was a promotion on household stuff. While we were browsing through the various colours and designs, we heard the sound of drums – there was a lion dance going on. Many children and their parents soon crowded the entrance. As it was really loud and noisy, we went further in the supermarket to shop for bed sheet. We spotted two lovely ones, one with hearts and love while the other one pictured a bride and bridegroom. Christine was unsure which to choose, so I said, "I think it's better you take this one (the hearts and love) rather than that one (the bride and bridegroom)... hmmm, if it's Siaw Tze, she sure take that one (the bride and bridegroom)..." She too agreed, and told me that just that morning Siaw Tze and her were discussing about age – going on 21 and 22. Feeling old dy eh, big sis? =P

Around 11am on Wednesday, I went to Mid Valley to meet Wei Yong, Michelle and Ker Yung. We had lunch together (I forgot what's the name of the restaurant... Yoshi something) and chatted on a lot of stuff – old days, school, friends and the coming Chinese New Year. After lunch, we walked around the megamall... actually it was just like a 'jalan-jalan cari makan' day. First we went to look around the newly opened The Gardens. There were still many shops not open yet and we found that it was really a 'high class' place for people of the higher society. Even the Golden Screen Cinema only offers Golden Class and Premium Class at The Gardens.

After a walk around the place, we went to Ground floor to have gelatissimo. Four of us shared a cup of two-flavoured gelatissimo. Cool and yummy!

We then walked around again, talking about doughnuts and cream puff (no we didn't buy any of that). An hour later we went to Haagen-Dazs as planned... to drink water with a bit of lemon flavour.

Haha actually we ordered a plate of 'flower blossom' with six flavours of ice cream. It was my first time eating Haagen-Dazs ice cream. It was superb!

About 15 minutes later...

At 4pm we bid each other goodbye and went on our way back. Wei Yong and I took the KTM train – it's the first time I got onto KTM train after coming back to Malaysia for so long. As usual, it's crowded with people and the heat was unbearable. I saw couples that cling onto each other for support. I remembered the times while still studying in INTEC; the KTM train was often our means of transport to go shopping around in KL.

Anyway, three times eating in 4 hours! It's really a 'fruitful' day =)

Two-o-o-eight

Wow, it's new year 2008 already! A brand new year, brand new start? Nah...I think it's just the same for me. I'm still learning driving, having to wake up at 7.30am everyday, still goyang-ing kaki at home while re-organising my notes, still playing piano...yet, it's new year. I'm going to be a second year medical student. More things to learn, more lecture notes to revise, more assignments. And when I think that I'm going to be 20 this year, I kinda feel myself getting...old. BUT I won't have to worry because I know that my friends are going to be 21, and a few 22! Haha =P Anyway, as long as we are young at heart, age doesn't matter right? RIGHT?

As it's 2008, I start to change my 'way of talking' a bit. For example...

"Those last year's newspapers.." (even though it's just a few days ago)

"Still doing last year's holiday homework??" (yesterday to my sis)

"Last year's pasta is in the fridge.." (one or 2 nights ago)

"I learnt driving since last year.." (Hmm..this sounds like I have been learning for a very long time already)

"We clean the house from last year to this year eh, mummy?"

"I have been overseas for one year already" (Oh my gosh, time really flies)

There have been quite a few friends gatherings ever since I came back KB. After Christmas, we celebrated Tze Xian and Zia En's birthday. Happy 41th, gals.. =P (21st + 20th = 41th)

They have gotten prettier over the years (Muahaha =P)

During New Year's eve, a few of us went to yum cha...and I was so surprised to see Kong Seng (aka OK Seng)! We chat non-stop pass midnight and it was also then I realise I was really too studious during secondary school for not knowing things that happened around me...haih...guess my antenna isn't really long compared to now =P
