Selamat pulang ke tanahair

I reached Malaysia on 14th November at 5.45am. The flight took about 8 hours and all I did during the flight was playing games (besides sleeping but it's not as comfortable as sleeping on a bed =P) . My dad was at KLIA to pick me up. He hugged me and said 'Welcome back'. We chat a lot on the way back to my relative's house in Sri Petaling. We had dim sum for breakfast but I did not eat a lot because I did not have appetite. Ever since finishing exam my sleeping and eating patterns jumbled up because of time constraint - I only had less than 4 days before going back. I spent a lot of time on packing; I slept at almost 5am for three consecutive days.

The first thing I did was to give a surprise to my dear friend
Siew Ting. I lied to her about one month plus ago that I would come back on 20th November, which is the day she'll finish her exams. All this while I had been planning carefully; informing whoever likely to chat with her or contact with her, told them my plans and asked them not to let her know the exact date of me coming back to Malaysia. I even asked Christine to help me make sure that she would be at home at Vista Komanwel that morning. My plan went smoothly as I went to look for her at noon. I called her mobile with my Maxis number and said ‘开门’ and hang up. (Apparently she also said '你在哪里’ but we didn't hear what both of us said to each other =.=). I waited for quite sometime but she didn't open the door. What I heard was that she was talking with her housemates and checking the dates, something like ‘今天十四号?!’ to confirm the date. I was laughing in my heart when I heard that. As I was sweating and could not wait any longer, I simply said, ‘你再不开门我就走了哦’ (again, she didn't hear this) but coincidentally she opened the door. She screamed when she saw me, screaming at me while I just smiled. My trick/plan worked!! She gave me a hug and led me in the house while her housemates came out to see what happened. Christine was still having class and I already told her earlier that we would be having lunch together. Meanwhile, I chat with Siew Ting and told her that 'the whole world knows when I'm coming back except you'. I brought them Krispy Kreme doughnuts, chocolates and some souvenirs. It's so nice to see your friends' happy faces =D After Christine came back from uni, they brought me to have lunch at the IMU canteen. Li Xian called me after that and we chat a while. Everyone's busy preparing for exam!

In the evening, I went to visit Angelene (all of them stayed close to each other at Vista Komanwel apartments). ‘可以抱抱先吗?’ was the first thing she said when she saw me. As planned earlier, she bought nasi lemak for me and we chat the whole night. She also made barley drink for me! It's really cooling as I was feeling hot and sweating ever since I reached Malaysia. I gave her souvenirs from Melbourne while she gave me some souvenirs from Greece - it was like an exchange of gifts, haha!

Krispy Kreme! Mmmmm....

I bought a dozen of assorted doughnuts =D

Heat it up for 8 seconds if you want it hot!

Oh well, it's been a long time since I saw anyone of them. Yesterday I came back to KB and my friends namely Chui Shen, Wei Yong and Li Shan came to visit me. There have been a lot of changes to my
house. More paintings, photos, pets (2 dogs, 2 rabbits), decorative items, 装饰品 etc...I think the only places in my house without changes are the kitchen and the toilets, LOL...

Exam aftermath =D

Alright, time to update my blog again! Yesterday we just had our first-and-last paper (we only have one written paper for exam) in the morning and the exam venue was at Caulfield Racecourse. It's a nice place and the 'exam hall' was facing towards the racecourse where you could see people training with horses. The exam was at 9.30am and we reached there more than an hour early =.= coz we took the 7.30am Monash University shuttle bus from Clayton campus and I thought that we would need about an hour to reach Caulfield, but instead the journey took only about 20-30 minutes. So as expected no one was around the exam halls yet except us!

I received quite a lot of messages wishing me good luck for the exam, and I wanna thank everyone for their wishes, people who prayed for me, and those who shared their nicely + neatly organised notes.

And now we are FREE! This signifies that we are REALLY 20% to becoming a doctor! We went to Clayton town after the exam to buy groceries to cook lunch for our VIP guests the next day (which is today). We also bought a cake to celebrate Daniel's birthday. We had a late lunch at Nando's and we were so full that most of us did not even have dinner after that. At night about 11pm, we celebrated Daniel's birthday and he was like an 'oh my god' expression with his hand over his forehead when he opened the door and saw the cake =P [Happy birthday, 老大牛] We had Zepeng as our entertainer of the night who entertained us with his mixed languages (Hokkien and Cantonese) as he's learning the languages.

Us waiting outside of Yeu Sheng's room...

Stratching his head while we sang birthday songs (3 languages)? =P

After celebration, Yu Wan and me went back to make jelly and the custard base for our triffle the next day while Chau Wang, who was hungry and eating macoroni, accompanied us while reading some notes =.= (Can you be like a normal student? - Huong 2007) It was past 1am and we were dead tired after grocery shopping in Clayton in the afternoon. First time being in the kitchen past midnight after such a long few months staying at the halls!

----------------------------------------------------

Our VIP guests today were the people who invited us to have reunion dinner together at during CNY eve at the beginning of this year, when we were still new and just arrived Australia. They are adults with a child-like heart; some of them have married and some of them are still studying at university but all of us get along well. They impressed me with their warm welcome and generosity, not to mention their 'sporting'-ness and friendliness and sense of humour.

We invited them for a lunch with all of us at the halls today, the main chefs being Chau Wang, Yu Wan, Ryan, Yun Ying and me! =D It was really everyone's effort in making this gathering a success and fun one, thanks to everyone who helped in buying and carrying groceries, preparing the ingredients, frying, baking, cooking (dishes and rice), washing and cleaning. We started at about 10am and our 6 VIP guests were expected to arrive at 1pm. We took quite some time in preparing the ingredients - cutting, washing, mixing and stirring. We were short of utensils (we only had one knife, a few plates and bowls, one pot and 2 pans available for cooking other dishes as 2 pots were already being used to cook bak kut teh)! The whole Roberts kitchen was like our own kitchen. We were moving and doing our tasks at normal pace when suddenly Chau Wang said 'we have half an hour left'! How shocked we were that time flew so fast. Suddenly the atmosphere changed to a 'rush-hour' kind of atmosphere, we quickened our pace in the kitchen while Yun Ying was rushing to borrow some utensils and to ask our friends at Deakin Hall to cook rice. However, we were relieved when there was a phone call saying that our guests would be late. Yet we finished cooking in time and oh my, how nice the dishes look on the plates!

5 dishes!

Desserts~

Finally our guests came (except for Augusta who came later). They were Willie, Richard, Rebecca, Sarah and 馨平. There were 18 of us altogether and our 6 guests had a go at remembering our names (there were 12 of us - 12 names! =P) It had been quite some time since we had such gathering/eating meals together, the last time being Yu Wan's birthday, also at the same place - East common room has been our place for big gatherings. We also took photos at the lawn outside the common room. It's a nice warm day!

November...

OSCE is finally over! I'll remember the sound of the bell (so called as the 'death bell' LOL) and the nervousness while in the briefing room waiting for our turns...the undoubtedly high stress level, sweaty palms and cold at the same time, heart bumping at highest rate while a fifth year student was there to give us our barcodes while 'entertaining' us. How surprised we were when we knew that he's just 21 years old!! 21 OMG!!! And he'll graduate this year while most of us will only be in 2nd year when we're 21 (3rd year for me)!!

Anyway after OSCE we went back to the halls and someone suggested playing frisbee at the field again. And yeah this time we really played frisbee...Ultimate frisbee as they called it. However, today's weather was not really sunny too; while we were half way running and catching frisbee, the rain started pouring down. It's just drizzle for a short while then it was sunny again so we didn't bother much. Few minutes later the rain started pouring again and we decided that it's time to get back or else we would fall sick. As we didn't have umbrellas or anything that could cover our head, we just merely WALKED in the rain back to the halls...it's the first time I actually soaked myself in the rain and not wanting to find any cover since we were already wet. Haha!

Us taking pic in the rain...

After that we went to have dinner at Mess Hall, chatting as usual and we even played guessing the word game!

One more written exam/paper to go on 9th Nov!
