Book-climbing

Went to the state library yesterday to return our borrowed books...and to get some 'buku untuk pelupusan' =P

There is already a mountain of books there! The library staff is updating the book collection in the library and they are planning to throw the very old books away. And so we did book-climbing...

Choosing books to bring home...and become ours from now on!

13 hours in an 8-hour flight

Have been back for a week...time surely flies! My flight from Melbourne-KL was delayed for 4++ hours due to some technical problem...and we ended up 'trapped' in the plane for 13 hours instead of the usual 8, reaching Malaysia at around 11+pm local time instead of 6.40pm...planned to have dinner together with family and we ended up having supper instead =.=

After staying at KL for a few days, we then came back to old KB on the 16th...again our flight was delayed due to the rain =.= Will fly to KL again after Christmas for our family trip, hopefully our flight won't be delayed again.

Must enjoy these few days at home ^_^ and more yum cha to come~

Great home-cooked dinner

We had a potluck dinner at Cheng Khoon's house last night, it was great, fun and full of laughter =D

The variety of food we had...chicken, duck, pork, taufu, eggs, vege...it's all YUMMY!!! And very homey-like =D

Thanks to everyone of us who prepared the food, and those who washed the dishes! We should do this again next year, CNY reunion dinner? =)

Flying home tomorrow, wheeeee~

It's summer, but still cold

A tragedy happened at KB Mall recently....quite scary to think about it, especially when you have been there so many times on the escalator. Photos of the tragedy flooded Facebook. Chien has a bit of details on it here.

Went shopping at the new South Wharf DFO today with
Li Ping, Chean Ying, Nooi Hoay and John. 4 girls and 1 guy....guess who bought the most stuff? Tadah...it's John! Us girls...spent less than $50 each...

I had dinner with Hui Xuan after that at Tomodachi, Melbourne Central =) Finally we met up, before I go home!

wheee =D

Chicken Japanese pancake that I ordered

Last 4 days at Melbourne before I go home!

Picnic at Jells Park

Today's the last day of spring, and it was very cold due to the strong wind....the weather forecast said it's cloudy today, and we had been hoping that it would not rain....because we had planned a picnic at Jells Park today! Thank God that it didn't rain =D

Cheng Khoon drove us to Clayton this morning (yes he bought a car!) to buy stuff to prepare for the picnic....after buying the food stuff we went to Officeworks to wait for Chean Ying, and I saw this really cool desktop...

Its LCD monitor is a touchscreen!!! And it's also Windows 7 version...the whole desktop cost about $1700! But still it's very cool =P (Guess who's that in the pic =P)

Went home and started preparing....I stood 1.5 hours just cutting the fruits =.=||| We left at 5.30pm and reached Jells Park around 6pm, sorry guys we were late @.@

Some of the food we brought

20 of us at picnic~

makan makan

After makan we started playing....the guys played football while we played frisbee =) and we took pictures too (but not with my camera so I didn't have the nice group pictures here)...and we also took pictures by the Jells lake =)

Picture of the day:

Don't ask me why. Haha!

Revisit Brighton beach

Yesterday we brought Jaishree to Brighton beach to take pictures....and it rained again!

~us girls~

all smiles....as you can see, umbrella coz it's raining....

We didn't spend much time at the beach (compared to last year), and since it's already about 4+pm, we decided to go and search the restaurant which we have booked a place earlier....time for Japanese buffet!!!

Sashimi....I didn't know we ordered 4 BIG plates of sashimi, then 'ter-order' 3 smaller plates....there were 12 of us, but the sashimi was just too much =P

Next up....our pre-ordered 2 dozens of fresh oysters...yummmm~!!!

Beef salad...we ordered 2 bowls of this, and another 4 bowls of vegetable salad (similar but without beef)...

Who would forget the all-time-favourite tempura....this is another 2 big plates...

Takoyaki!!! 4 plates....

Tofu (there were more in the bowl initially)....2 bowls to share

Sushi/california rolls...just 2 small plates, luckily we didn't order much of this

My favourite grilled eel!!!! 4 plates wahahaha~~

Not too sure what is this, I think it's teriyaki chicken....2 or 4 plates?

This was the last dish...2 plates of teriyaki salmon...by the time it was put on the table, we were all so stuffed that we just circulate the dish around the table

On top of all that, we also had 4 plates of fried chicken, and a bowl of miso soup each....yea I know we are big eaters =P After that we have some fruits and ice cream as well, all included in the buffet which cost us $28 per person. It was only 5pm when we started eating, and we had 1.45 hour to stuff ourselves with all the food....it was a great experience, my first time eating fresh oysters and I thought I would detest it but then I realised that I quite like it actually! =D

Warm and hot

Called home just now and talked for about an hour. Mum asked me what time I will be arriving at KL on 12th December and I told her that I will be back on time to have dinner with pa. (yeah I know we are one of the 'special' families who call mum 'mummy' and dad 'papa'...coz usually people call their parents by either 'mama' and 'papa', or 'mummy' and 'daddy'...so you know what I mean by 'special' =P) Anyway, am going off topic here...back to my mum's question, I said I will be back to have dinner with pa, and my sister who was on the phone with me that time told me that I will be having dinner together with them all at KL! Coz they will be flying to KL from KB on the same day I arrive KL =) How nice is that wheee~ can't wait to go home now....

Heat wave is striking Melbourne again. It's not summer yet (kinda end of spring actually). Seems like it will be around 35 degrees for the rest of the week =S

Guess what time this picture was taken:

Very bright right? Early morning sunrise? Well....it's NOT! It's actually coming to sunset, around 7.33pm...yes 7.33PM (in Malaysia it'll be dark already by this time)

and this was taken at 7.50pm. Now it's 8.08pm and there's still a bit of sunlight, not entirely dark yet

So our days have become longer and the nights shorter, which is not too good for the current HOT weather...my sister told me that there's a bit of flood at KB few days ago, how contrasting is that. And she even had to purposely 'remind' me of the air-conds in our house =.=||||

Today is also the last day at Dandenong Hospital for my PBL group. We had our last tutes today...time really flies, I could still remember the first time we met our tutors, the very first tute, where we all sat outside the Zouki cafe enjoying the nice weather (it was autumn back then) and getting to know each other...and suddenly 10 months had gone! After our tutes, we thanked our tutors and gave them some gift as our token of appreciation for their hard work throughout the year.

with our medical bedside tutor

and our surgical bedside tutor

Didn't manage to take a group pic with our PBL tutor =(

This also means that study week has begun (the official Swot Vac starts this Friday)....let's try our best!

With love from Perth

This bulky little parcel arrived on Friday but I only realised it yesterday.

I knew who the sender was because she asked me earlier whether I have received the gift or not. Besides, she has also asked me few weeks ago to choose a photo of ours that I like/that both of us like. She said it's my 21st so she would like to send me something special =)

I wonder what is it?

Very well bubble-wrapped by the company

Errr...okay

Tadaa!! So NICEEEE!!!! With red hearts floating inside!! And the photo is double-sided as well!! Love it so much! =D

Thanks Ling Weng for the lovely gift *hug hug* ♥ ♥ ♥

Quick way to relieve stress

My sister sent me this mini game last weekend. It's kinda cool....

It's a 'destructive' tool of desktop...

You can try something simple like this:

Hammer (it has the sound effect of breaking glass too!)

Chain-saw (very irritating noise pollution)

It also has a cute side with the use of a stamp

Flame-thrower

The effect of flame-thrower and termites - lots of termites which produce the squeezy sound

There are also some other tools like machine gun, colour-thrower and laser...combining all the effects and you get:

Total destruction!!

Okay, back to study mood....

Mooncakes....I love!

We celebrated Mid Autumn Festival last night at the common room. Ate mooncakes, mochi and had oolong tea (thanks to Yu Wan!!)~~

Mochi mochi!!! *excited*

So colourful and yummy!!!

Some of the mooncakes we had...there were mooncakes of red bean paste, white lotus paste, corn paste, red dates paste, green tea paste etc....Chean Ying and I bought 9 mooncakes in total =D

And guess what, we also played lanterns after that! Li Ping brought so many lanterns and candles! We walked around the lake near halls with our colourful lanterns just like what we did 2 years ago...good that it's not too cold =)

p/s: Daylight saving ends tomorrow. We lose 1 hour of sleep =/

** repeat

## repeat

Great time with friends

Ling Sing and Zhi Han came to visit us last Friday.... we celebrated Ling Sing's birthday that night =)

Hope you enjoy our little celebration~

It wasn't a real surprise even though we hid ourselves quietly in Nooi Hoay's room before they arrived =P

The next morning we went to Miss Marple's at Mt Dandenong. It was meant to be a surprise for Ling Sing as she didn't know where we were bringing her - she was even blindfolded when sitting in Daniel's car. But she found it out eventually when Li Ping's car was left behind and Chau Wang went to ask Daniel for directions to the place...

Nice place for pictures beside the English cottage

Miss Marple's! =)

We had tea....

and their very famous scones (with cream and jam),

2 different flavours of ice cream,

and bread and butter pudding...we shared the sweet desserts among ourselves =D

It was a very satisfying brunch. What can be nicer than having scones and desserts on a Saturday morning up at Mt Dandenong? ^_^

After grocery shopping at Clayton in the afternoon, Kaiwen suddenly suggested to go to the beach. Li Ping and I thought that she was just joking. The weather that day was a mixture of sun and rain. It wasn't the perfect day for beach. Yet Kaiwen wasn't joking when she called me later to say that we would be going to the beach in half an hour's time while I was 'unpacking' my groceries. Apparently she called the whole 'kampung' already - including Li Ping, Yu Wan, Justina and Shea Chuen, plus us from halls! Whoa... and guess what, we went to the same beach (Mordialloc beach) we went last week! Just that this time we could now see how beautiful the colour of the sea was...

SS before we started the trip to the beach~

The wind was so strong that we actually could not play ball

Chean Ying in the next 范特西

It was really cold and the wind was blowing so strongly that we decided to leave the sand for a while...we walked up to a 亭子 to 遮风挡雨 while enjoying snacks we brought =P It started drizzling for a bit. The 2 guys went to the town area to buy hot food so Kaiwen requested them to buy a bowl of chips..haha~

When the rain stopped for a while, we managed to see the beautiful colours of sunset... the sun hiding behind the dark clouds, it was really a great view =D

It was about 6pm when we left the beach, then us girls in Li Ping's car decided to buy our dinner from Coles.... roast chicken, salad, garlic bread and mushroom soup =D

What a nice Saturday to be spent with friends =D Even though we were just eating non stop since morning hahaha~

And yesterday Sunday I went to Adilah & Amirah's rumah terbuka for Raya... whoa, more food....great Malay food!!! Yum yum yum =D

me & Li Ping: Sorry Adilah I know we recycle our baju kurung every year....

Selamat Hari Raya!
