During our Medical bedside tute today...
Our tutor (who is also the Clinical Dean) went to talk to a patient whom we can take a history and perform a cardiac examination from while we were waiting outside of the room. Then he took us in to meet the patient.
Patient: So, you want me to be a G.P. eh?
Tutor: G.P.? Oh are you going to be a General Practitioner?
At the same time I was wondering whether did he get the message across that we were the ones going to examine him...just then...
Patient: No no no, a G.P.
Tutor: General Practitioner?
Patient: Guinea Pig.

I have never thought of general practitioner has the same abbreviation as guinea pig
