Unlimited free calls =D

I was so happy and excited when I read the email from Skype (I suscribed to their newsletter about new features and stuff) today! They gave me a voucher for one month of FREE Unlimited World Suscription, which means I can call to most countries in the world (landlines only) for FREE! Yooohooo! And of course I redeemed the voucher at once =D

I then called home and talked for about an hour. I wanted to surprise my mom and sisters, so I imitated my sisters' friends way of calling by saying, "请问 Rachel 有在吗?" It was my mom who picked up the call. I repeated the sentence 3 times because she couldn't hear what I was saying, and yet she didn't recognise my voice! Hahaha...when she passed the phone to my sister, I asked her to guess who it was and she immediately knew it was me LOL! I rarely called home because we used to web cam via Skype, and when my mom and sister knew the call was free, we started chatting about a lot of random stuff...from school to friends to exams to holidays and to my youngest sister. Joanne was still at school for some 华乐 practice, apparently she's the leader for the instrument she's playing (I don't know how to type it out in Chinese)...wow! She's still so busy even after her PMR examination...I don't remember being as busy as her after my PMR back then, what I remember was that we used to relax and have fun most of the time! Rachel said her SPM exam will start on November 11th/12th, and I told her that my exam will have finished by then...she said, 'Yerr don't tell me that!' LOL

We hung up a few minutes before my dinner time. I checked the details of the Unlimited World Suscription to see which countries are included under the suscription...yes, calls to landlines in Australia and Malaysia are free, so as New Zealand, Japan and UK, but not US, Hong Kong, China, Canada and Singapore. You know who is the next person I intended to call - princess Teo! I wanted to greet her good morning =) So yeah, I dialled her number, and how shocked I was when the words '0.235AUD per minute' appeared on the screen! I thought it was supposed to be FREE?? Hmmm.... I re-checked the suscription details again, and it's stated that for UK, only calls to the area code 01 and 02 are included....arrrggghhh...why not Manchester??? Sigh...sorry Angelene...I thought I could give you a surprise >.<

Oh, to my friends in Malaysia, give me your landline number so I can call you! Hehe~ so fun!

From perfect lady

Received this huge parcel today. I've never received such huge parcel before (apart from one big box of clothes sent by my parents last year). Totally didn't expect this!

Okay this time I can't recognise the handwriting, but I know who the sender is....coz Yun told me earlier =P

So much cute stuff inside!! =D You might be wondering why did she use such a big box...her reason was: she couldn't find a smaller one...and she told me that she even had to go to the photocopy shop to ask for the box @.@

She sew the heart herself! Awww so sweet! And so surprising! =P I have to admit that my sewing skills are not as good as hers...(the heart is not stick to the envelope if that's what you are thinking). And see the words on the envelope...yup, I'm the most SS princess wahaha =P

This is a massage thingy...the giraffe head is so cute!!! =D

This made my day...I'm so so happy...feel blessed. I never expect my friends in Malaysia to post me something for my birthday. When Yun told me she and Chui Shen sent me stuff, I thought she meant a birthday card. And I was surprised to receive pressies! =) It doesn't matter whether it's late or not...it's the heart that matters =) Just like Chui Shen said, “迟到好过没到,对不对?有心就好了,对不对?” Yes, 有心就好 =D (this also 'applies' to anyone who sent me gifts...yup, Yun and Angelene, I don't mind them being late. I love gifts! And to Chien and Conney, though unfortunately the cards were lost, I still feel blessed because I know I am loved ^_^)

Thank you my dear perfect lady Chui Shen! Appreciate it!

谢谢你,“宇宙超级无敌”零缺点完美美少女吕翠娴!=P

友望生日快乐!=)

We celebrated Yu Wan's birthday yesterday around midnight...and guess what we have this time?

All these were in Chau Wang's room, and each of us were assigned the task of arranging the glowing sticks and sparklers...

....to make this. So cool right? =D

It's so pretty...so colourful...glow in the dark =)

Angel or alien? =P

Happy 21st birthday Yu Wan!

天气晴朗,心情开朗

Yesterday we had our CBP (Community-Based Placement) Poster Presentation! It's been quite some time since I last dressed formal....

My CBP group mates

with our poster! =)

My gang of friends and I even took a group photo with our CBP coordinator at the end of the poster presentation!

It was quite an enjoyable morning because I got to see everyone else's posters...there were 118 posters in total, all were the hard work and effort of us 300++ 2nd year meddies. There were 65 assessors who came to look at our posters and grade/mark our posters (each group was supposed to present their poster for 10 minutes to the assessor). I didn't know how much mark my group got but our assessor kept saying 'Excellent, excellent...' Well hope we get good marks for the colourful poster =)

I guess everyone has had an enjoyable CBP experience throughout the year =)

Oh and on Monday I received a cute little parcel from dearie Yun.

Hahaha I can recognise that 'wide' handwriting!

Wow, glass botol....wait, is this English or BM? =P

The card is so cuuuuttteeee!!! And there's another layer of gift wrap for me to open...

...which revealed this. A star-shaped blue bottle with messages written in little scrolls...how sweet =) Thanks Yun! =D

陈燕萍加油!

I have some messages in my phone from my youngest sister which I think are funny. And yes her sms-es are quite long.

On her teeth:

Today my class had a teeth check-up.
After checking, the nurse said ANTI R which means...
Tak Perlu Rawatan.
Just then, i suddenly felt as though i have 2 rows of glittering precious pearl...
See, my teeth are strong and healthy, though they are yellow. That is why never judge a book by its cover, never look down at my steel teeth by its colour... ha~

(just brush your teeth la.)

On letters that did not reach home:

Donno, maybe u MCC...
Or,
maybe u too excited to post those letters and then wrote the address wrongly...
Or................mayb your writings too DIFFICULT to see...
And by difficult, i mean...................UGLY...

(hey my handwriting isn't ugly! =.=)

another one:

TWO TIMES ADY!
R u sure u got write the address BIG & CLEAR?
Mayb the postman old ady...
Or may the setem not enough ni...
Mayb next time u send the birthday card for papa, u sun bian ask the workers at the post office...i think they have some explanation to do!

Asking about Worms World Party:

Forgot to ask u just now.
Do u remember the game about the war of the worms.
Here is one of the sentence said by one of the worms: "You r looking at the eyes of the demon."
Something like that...do u save in the pc at home (KB)?

(yeah she used to repeat that sentence 'you are looking at the eyes of the demon' with a devilish-like voice LOL)

On the coming PMR examination:

Ya...
Luckily my science teacher gives us all the weapons to fight for the Powerful War Revolution (donno got special meaning or not) bcuz she is in the hospital now.
[and bla bla telling me about her going to prefect's dinner thingy]

(I replied that Powerful War Revolution is PWR not PMR, to which she replied:)

Ok then.
Powerful Mankind Revolution loo...
[and bla bla other sentences here]
Anyway i am going to the world of history.
C u & gd luck.

(Why so formal at the end of the message? o.0 Jia you for exam!)

Don't worry I tagged no one

State 15 weird things/habits/little known facts about yourself. The 10 people I tag are to then follow my footsteps and write their own 15 weird things/habits and little known facts.

1. For the house/room that I'm living in, I need large area of space to move around. I just like spacious rooms. That is also why I keep my room as neat and tidy as possible by not having too much stuff on the floor.

2. I like flowers. Yup, not many people know that. Type? The gerbera species. Those that blossom. And I have never received flowers before.

3. I don't shower in the morning. (I prefer to use the time to sleep...)

4. I don't used to wear thongs. But now I have one pair that I wear to shower.

5. I have no idea what are the food that I dislike (I'm not really picky on the type of food you see.) =P

6. I am interested in history and culture, especially Egyptian and Greek.

7. I speak fast, which is good when it comes to talking on the phone but bad when it's presentation time coz I tend to get nervous then I will speak faster >.<

8. I like to 'fill up' the wall of my room with stuff - poster, postcards, drawings, calendar, photos, messages, sticky notes...

9. I don't usually initiate conversation >.<

10. I think I mentioned this before but I'm running out of what to write here - I don't know how to swim, and I don't know how to ride a bike.

11. I like organising stuff and keeping things in order (e.g. putting things back to where they should be).

12. I don't like going to the library to study.

13. I seldom go to my friend's house (usually my friends come over to my house)...from my 'record', I've never been to my best friend's house, and last year CNY was my first time being to several of my closest friends' houses...and that is also coz I stay back at KB for CNY!

14. I think a lot, some say that I am more mature than my age.

15. I am not as fashionable as my mom and grandma.

I tag: no one, everyone is busy preparing for exams...coz it's the time of the year again...

Yeah I agree that no one would bother reading this...only the person who tagged me will be interested though (I think!) =P

The person who tag you is?
Chien

What relationship of you with him/her?
Complicated...hahaha =P

Your 5 impressions towards him/her?
Mysterious, full of surprises, cool, hot (a person can be cool and hot right??), friendly (can talk about anything under the sun)

The most memorable thing that he/she has done to you?
A lot of things...for example she asked her 'post-girl' to send me something last year hahaha

The most memorable word that he/she has said to you ?
Word?? Any word can be memorable, it's the content of the conversation that matters.

If he/she becomes your lover, you will?
She has someone else =P

If he/she becomes your enemy, you will?
God says, 'love your enemies'....but I know we will never become enemies!

If he/she becomes your lover, he/she has to improve on?
Just being herself to her someone else LOL

The most desirable thing to do for him/her is?
Love like a friend does...belanja her makan coz she loves FOOD =P

How do you think the people around you will feel about you?
Happy-go-lucky?

The character for you like for yourself is?
I don't know! Everything?

On contrary, the character you hate of yourself is?
Tend to procrastinate though I finish work fast...

The most ideal person you want to be is?
Saya sendiri

For the person who cares and likes you, say something about them.
Thank you for your care/concern/love *hugsss*

Rayo!

Should have blogged about this earlier, hehe.

I was invited to two open houses during Raya! So happy hehehe coz got nice food to eat plus get to meet friends and dress up =P

1/10/2008, Wednesday (1st day of Raya)

Ryan, Yun Ying and I went to Safia's open house. It's my second time to her house =)

Group pic

Forgot to take pictures of the food but we managed to take pictures of the Raya cookies =P

They taste so good....guess what, Safia said her parents posted the cookies here from Malaysia!!

Thanks to Safia (standing next to me in the pic) for inviting us!

4/10/2008, Saturday (4th day of Raya)

Open house at The Pavillion...haha it's the common room of South-East Flats, which is just about 10 minutes walk from halls.

They have ketupat hanging around the Pavillion

Look at the amount of food!!!!

Cookies, of course

Roti jala!!!

Chocolate cake with strawberries

Cheese cake

We also have chicken curry, beef rendang, kurma, and also other desserts besides the ones mentioned above....it was very fulfilling for everyone of us =)

This is the evidence - everyone was smiling to the camera except Ivie who was enjoying her food LOL

It was nice and sunny outside (love this pic!! =D)

Then they decided to take a 'jumping pose' pic...obviously I'm not in the pic coz I was the photographer...it's a nice pic =)

Okay my turn....I find this pic very funny, with Li Ping's hand covering my face and Ivie's hair made her look like some vampire or dracula LOL

Some people trying to act cool by advertising their sunglasses

Hmmmm....this is for my princess who loves Batman! =P

p/s explanation of the title: For my friends who don't know Bahasa Kelate, that's the way we said 'Raya'. =)

3 phrases

Yesterday Ye Chia told me, "There's always hope."

She also said, “好好珍惜你的时间。”

She said that in response to my need for more time spent on study. Exam is in less than a month's time. Please pray for me....because 'prayers can move mountains' (Angelene 2008). Thanks =)

I came across this phrase on the Web yesterday. I've read it before somewhere sometime ago. The phrase is..."The greatest gift of all, is love."

Hope, love...and the next element will be...faith! "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." (Hebrews 11:1).

There's a piece of paper on the wall in front of my desk that says:
Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, if you have Faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to the mountain, 'move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." (Matthew 17: 20).

Yes, I shall have faith that God will see me through and that I'll pass my exams...

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." (1 Corinthians 13:13)
